Family Physician launches new book

Dr Jacqueline Campbell, Jamaican family physician and former treasurer of the regional board of the Caribbean College of Family Physicians recently launched her book "A Patient's Guide to the Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus"  (ISBN 9789768217370). The book is a comprehensive description of diabetes. It is written in simple language and addresses many of the frequently asked questions of the newly diagnosed and chronic sufferers of this modern day malady.

In a conversational manner, the book describes the causes, the symptoms, and the long term treatment of diabetes. Dr. Campbell is also an alternative medicine practitioner. The book has a brief section on the possible use of herbal medicines in the care of diabetics. This book is a welcome addition to the caribbean information on diabetes and should be recommended by all family physicians to be read by their patients.
